About the Wan Boo Sow Charity Fund

The Fund is provided by the Wan Boo Sow Charity Fund Limited. The objective of the fund is to provide financial assistance to needy students studying in polytechnics, persons with disability, and homebound elderly. (More about the Wan Boo Sow Charity Fund)

Scope

The Fund provides financial assistance to persons in the following categories:
  1. Able-bodied students from single parent families for their education expenses in a polytechnic. Exception can be considered for students pursuing GCE 'O' Level.
  2. Persons with disability for their expenses on education, medical needs, therapy, transport, and purchase of assistive equipment.
  3. Homebound frail seniors for their expenses on personal care, meals, housekeeping, laundry and escort services.

Eligibility

  1. Applicants should be Singapore citizens and referred by a VWO or a medical social work department in a hospital. Referring VWOs / hospitals need to provide social report and supporting documents to justify the application.
  2. Applicant should be from low-income families, that is, families with monthly per capita household income less than $1,000, who need help to pay for the needed services / equipment.
  3. The percentage of subsidy is tiered based on monthly per capita household income and capped at maximum of $5,000 per annum.

Applications should be made through a VWO or a hospital's medical social work department. Referring agencies must ensure and verify that all information provided is true and correct. Download Application Form
