The grant provides co-funding for training programmes, which include training courses, conferences, workshops, seminars and study trips.

Who can apply?

  • All permanent staff or volunteers of NCSS member VWOs and MCYS-funded VWOs can apply for the VCF Training Grant.
  • Volunteers are only eligible for Professional Skills Based Training (local training) and Governance and Management Training (local training) courses that are related to their volunteering scope at the VWOs.
  • To be eligible for the local training grant, Employment Pass / Work Permit Holders must have at least one year of remaining contract.
  • Only permanent staff (who are Singaporean or PR) of NCSS member VWOs and MCYS-funded VWOs can qualify for VCF overseas training grant.
  • At the point of application for the VCF Overseas Training grant, applicants (only full time, paid staff are eligible) should have been employed by the VWO for at least one year.
  • A participant can only attend two(2) general training category courses a year.

How to apply?

For SSTI training courses, applicant VWOs can apply directly through http://www.ssti.org.sg. For non-SSTI training courses, applicant VWOs must apply for the local training grant via the VWO Corner.
All applications for local training grant must reach the VCF Secretariat at least 1 month before the course commences.
All applications for overseas training support must reach the VCF Secretariat at least 3 months before the course commences. All overseas training applications will be tabled at the VCF Evaluation Panel meetings for decision.

When is fund given?

Funding is disbursed upon the completion of the course and receipt of all relevant supporting documents, (see below). VWO Applicant pays only the amount of course fee not supported by the VCF training support and the training provider will claim the local training grant support from the VCF Secretariat (VCFS). VWO Applicant pays the full course fees and claims the local training grant support from the VCF Secretariat (VCFS) on a reimbursement basis. Funding is on a reimbursement basis upon submission of claim.

Supporting documents include:

- Certificate of attendance / authorisation letter of attendance;
- Photocopies of invoices / receipts / bank remittance advices (if applicable);
- Course feedback form; and
- *Post-course evaluation report for Professional Skills Based Training courses that cost above $450.

For applicants applying for Diploma, Graduate Diploma or Degree courses, the reimbursement will be based on the following:

** Upon completion of course and submission of supporting documents:
a) Course fee receipt / invoice;
b) Course feedback form; &
c) A copy of the Diploma / Degree letter of successful attainment of qualification from the institution awarding the Degree / Diploma.
