| Sabbatical Leave Scheme For Social Workers in the Social Service Sector | ||||||||||||||
| Purpose | ||||||||||||||
| The Sabbatical Leave Scheme aims to provide social workers the opportunity to recharge and refresh themselves. The scheme also provides social workers the opportunity to engage in activities for professional advancement. | ||||||||||||||
| Components of the Scheme | ||||||||||||||
There are two components, namely Paid Leave and Professional Advancement Sponsorship.
^ Minimum Service Period (MSP) is a non-contractual agreement to serve the service period within the current organisation.
* Can be served concurrently with the MSP for the Professional Advancement Sponsorship of below S$10,000. # For sponsorship amount of between S$10,000 to S$30,000, the bond period will commence upon completion of the professional advancement component. |

| The Paid leave and Professional Advancement sponsorship package is worth S$45,000. | ||||||||||||||

Applicants are advised to discuss your proposed sabbatical plans with your current employer. All applications must be made through your current working organisation prior to submitting applications. | Requirements | ||||||||||||||
| Upon return from the sabbatical leave, you will be required to serve the MSP or bond duration in your organisation. You will also be required to conduct a sharing session within your organisation and submit a written report to the employer and the Secretariat. | ||||||||||||||
