Background
The Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS), in its efforts to professionalise the social services, will be rolling out three new initiatives to enhance the professional development of social workers.
 
Purpose

The Professionalisation Package aims to further enhance standards of social work by offering opportunities for professional growth and learning.

The three new initiatives to be implemented are as follows:

  1. Professional and Leadership Development Scheme
  2. Sabbatical Leave Scheme
  3. Accreditation Framework
 
Launch of the Schemes

The Professional and Leadership Development Scheme and the Sabbatical Leave Scheme are open for application from 10th March 2008 and will close on 16th May 2008 (extended).
