Planned Legacy Giving

What is Planned Legacy Giving?

Planned Legacy Giving are gifts to charities that provide long-term support to meet future challenges. By leaving behind a lasting legacy of hope, you can make a difference to the future of our society.

We understand that you may have other estate objectives such as providing for your family members and loved ones. However, with careful planning, you can benefit from tax exemptions, better provide for your family, and do more for your favourite charitable causes.

You may choose to leave a meaningful legacy by including a charity in your will, nominating a charity as a beneficiary of your CPF account or insurance policies, or simply making an outright major gift.

Anyone can leave a legacy, let yours be a lasting legacy of hope!

3 ways of Giving

GIVING through a will
A will is a reflection of your personal values, love for family, and care for community. Although there are intestacy laws, only a will can ensure that your wishes are carried out as you intended.

There are several ways that you can include a charity in your will:

  • Outright Bequests
This provides your chosen charity with a stipulated sum of money or property, in the form of stocks, bonds, a residence, or other real estate.
  • Residuary Bequests
This provides your chosen charity with all or part of your estate after all other beneficiaries have been provided for in your will.
Making a will is a straightforward process. We can help you plan your bequest to ensure the greatest personal satisfaction.

GIVING through insurance policies
You may name your favourite charity as beneficiaries of your life insurance and other policies that have been paid for in full and are no longer needed.

GIVING through CPF savings
You may choose to make a gift through your CPF account by nominating your favourite charity as beneficiaries of your CPF savings.

Why choose Community Chest?

Community Chest supports programmes and services under four major causes:
1. Nurturing Children to Succeed
2. Dignifying the Lives of the Elderly
3. Keeping Families Together
4. Helping People with Disabilities Lead Independent Lives

Every dollar you donate to Community Chest goes directly to the programmes we support. This is made possible as Singapore Totalisator Board sponsors our operating costs.

Your help is needed as Community Chest raises only what is required by our programmes each year. There are no reserves at Community Chest.

You can be assured that our strict policy of complete accountability and transparency along with equally stringent standards for the Voluntary Welfare Organisations (VWOs) that we support, ensures that your donations are distributed to their maximum potential.

Let your legacy bring hope to the disadvantaged

Pledge a meaningful planned legacy gift to the Community Chest and share a lasting legacy for the future.

Whichever way you choose to give, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that your gift will live on, providing critical social services and improving lives for generations to come.

Just as you wanted and planned.
