APB Foundation Scholarship for Persons with Disabilities

The Asia Pacific Breweries (APB) Foundation was established in 1994 to fulfill Asia Pacific Breweries Limited's philanthropic commitment to society. Its philanthropic intent spans three areas namely Creativity Development, Human Excellence and Humanitarian & Social Causes.

Recognising that Singapore's global competitiveness lies in the hands of its people, the Foundation has been investing in Human Excellence causes that are designed to discover and nurture talents, and to build human capital. In particular since 2004, the Foundation has been awarding scholarships to physically disabled students for their outstanding academic results and their relentless pursuit for a university education.

Features Of The Scholarship

  • Applicants can take up any degree programme in any discipline tenable at:
    • National University of Singapore (NUS)
    • Nanyang Technological University (NTU)
    • Singapore Management University (SMU)
    • SIM University (UniSIM)
  • $11,000 per year up to a maximum of 4 years.
  • There will be no bond attached to this scholarship.
  • Scholars are encouraged to contribute to the community and social service sector as role models to people with disabilities

Eligibility

Applicants must satisfy the following:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Either visually, hearing or physically-challenged (medical certification from doctor is required)
  • Good GCE ‘A’ levels and/or Polytechnic Diploma and/or university examination results
  • Undergraduate students currently pursuing a degree at the local universities indicated above
  • Working professionals who are keen to upgrade themselves.

To Apply

  • Application can be done online at www.brightsparks.com.sg.
  • Alternatively, application forms are available at admin offices of JCs, polytechnics, local universities and Voluntary Welfare Organisations.
  • You can also download the prescribed application form here.
All online and hardcopy applications must be accompanied by certified true copies of the following:
  1. NRIC
  2. Latest educational certificates and examination transcripts
  3. GCE ‘O’ or ‘A’ levels certificates or Diploma from a local approved Polytechnic
  4. Testimonials, if any
  5. Reference from the present school principal or lecturer
  6. Any other document(s) which may support your application
