Support for Acquiring Recognised Social Work Qualifications (For Accreditation)

The VCF supports VWO staff who wish to acquire recognised social work qualifications in accordance with the requirements for accreditation. More information on accreditation is available.

Application for this grant opened on 1 Apr 2009. This grant is valid until March 2012.

The grant supports 100% of the course fee capped at $20,000.

The Social Work courses supported under this Grant are:

	Bachelor of Arts (Social Work) (National University of Singapore)
	Graduate Diploma in Social Work (National University of Singapore)
	Bachelor of Social Work (Social Service Training Institute/ Monash University)
	Bachelor of Social Work (UniSIM)
	Graduate Diploma in Social Work (under the Master of Social Work pathway) (UniSIM)

Eligibility Criteria

All permanent staff (Singaporeans/PRs) of NCSS member VWOs and MCYS-funded VWOs, who:

	Are not receiving other government funding for Graduate Diploma/Degree studies to acquire Singapore Association of Social Workers (SASW)-recognised social work qualifications for accreditation
	Do not qualify for other schemes such as Professional Conversion Package (PCP) for social workers
	Are currently Registered Social Service Practitioners (RSSPs) by Social Work Accreditation Board or would be Registered Social Service Practitioners (RSSPs) by Social Work Accreditation Board by course completion or 31 Mar 2012, whichever is earlier

Recipients of VCF funding must obtain accreditation status as Registered Social Workers - Provisional within four months upon completion of the course or by 31 Mar 2012, whichever is earlier, to receive the 100% course fee support of up to $20,000.

Application Procedures

All applications for the grant must reach the VCF Secretariat at least two months before the course commences.
