Research Support

EBSCOhost e-Journal Database

To build VWOs’ research capability and help them stay abreast with new research and developments in the social service sector, NCSS and SSTI have provided all member VWOs with EBSCOhost, an e-journal database.

More than 3,400 e-journals from EBSCOhost’s SocINDEX, Psychology & Behavioral Science collection, and Non-Profit Organisation Reference Centre have been made available from April 2012.

Visit http://search.ebscohost.com to access the database. A user ID and password are required. Please note that this resource is only available to staff from member VWOs and SSTI’s current academic students.

There are two ways to obtain the user ID and password to access EBSCOhost:

1.
  1. Login to VWO Corner; or
2.
Email Ms Grace Chan via your official email account to request for a user ID and password

Research Network

The Research Network aims to bring together social service practitioners who are keen to build their research knowledge through sharing and learning. The network is held twice a year, and provides a platform to enable social service practitioners to strengthen their knowledge and skills in research, as well as promote a research culture in the social service sector. Guest speakers are invited to share on social service research, while participants can share their experiences in conducting social service research in their respective areas.
