e-Case Management System (eCMS)

The Electronic Case Management System (eCMS) is a web-based tool which facilitates coordinated care for clients through seamless case management within each VWO and amongst VWOs.

Developmental Disability Registry

The Developmental Disability Registry (DDR) was developed by NCSS to assist VWOs in rendering needed services to persons with disability and elderly with dementia. DDR enables VWOs to effectively manage their client's information and systematically track their development over time.It can also further aid VWOs in their collaborative efforts in the provision of coordinated services to clients.

The system allows the generation of DDR Identity cards for persons with disabilities. These ID cards enable members of the public to render appropriate assistance to persons with disabilities. In March 2008, NCSS implemented the Safe Return Initiative for seniors with dementia. The benefits of the Registry and the ID cards were extended to seniors with dementia.

The benefits of using eCMS and DDR can be described as follows:

Easy access
Updated real-time information on significant stages (from assessment to intervention) can be accessed from workplace, home and overseas
Convenient referral
Secure and effective referral across agencies to enhance service delivery
Manage data and generate reports
Quick generation of statistical and administrative reports for review and decision-making
Security
A two-tier security feature that ensures only assigned staff-in-charge has access to required information

Confidentiality of Clients Information

VWO clients information is kept confidential as users enter the systems through the use of SingPass, which stands for Singapore Personal Access and is a personal password for users. Stringent policies and procedures are also in place to safeguard the clients information.

The access rights among various staff users in a VWO can be controlled and configured through a security matrix. An additional layer of security access allows the assignment of each case to specific staff-in-charge.

Support for VWOs

Training sessions are conducted for VWO staff to familiarise themselves with the systems. A helpline is also available to provide assistance for VWO staff.

Application

All NCSS full members and Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF)-funded VWOs are eligible to apply for the systems which is free of charge.
