Training in Research

Social service professionals are encouraged to build research interests and capabilities through regular training. Some training courses that one may consider attending include:

Social Service Training Institute (SSTI)

  • Research methods in social sciences (1-2 June 2010)

  • Quantitative analysis using SPSS (3-4 June 2010)

  • Qualitative research methods & analysis (3-5 August 2010,
    4-5 January 2011)

Research Network

The Research Network aims to bring together social service practitioners who are keen to build their research knowledge through sharing and learning. The network is held twice a year, and provides a platform to enable social service practitioners to improve their research knowledge and skills, as well as promote a research culture in the social service sector. Guest speakers are invited to share on social service research, while participants can share their experiences in conducting social service research in their respective areas.
