The Professionalisation Package
 
Background

The Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS), in its efforts to professionalise the social services, has rolled out the following initiatives through NCSS to enhance the professional development of social workers.

  1. Professional and Leadership Development Scheme
  2. Sabbatical Leave Scheme
 
These initiatives are part of the $1 million Professionalisation Package for social workers in the social service sector, which was announced by Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports, at the inaugural Social Workers' Day on 20 January 2007.
 
Purpose

The Professionalisation Package aims to further enhance standards of social work by offering opportunities for professional growth and learning.

 
Application

Both schemes are now open for application.
