Parents and caregivers of persons with disabilities and seniors with dementia are often concerned about the safety and well-being of their wards. The identity (ID) card will enable parents and caregivers to feel more at ease whenever their loved ones are unaccompanied outside of their homes. It would also enable members of the public to extend appropriate assistance to them.

The ID card offers a Benefits Scheme that provides Developmental Disability Registry (DDR) ID cardholders with discounted rates for services and access to various facilities. The card can be generated through the DDR administered by NCSS.

"The ID card is very useful for my son who doesn't know his way around.  In the event that my son is lost, the card would be useful as people who find him may contact the centre or call me personally."

"My Dad was first diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2004.  Since then, his memory, mood and cognitive function are slowly deteriorating.  This special needs card comes in timely for my Dad.  It has all the necessary details on the card.  I feel very assured that if he is lost, I know that whoever finds him will know how to make contact using the emergency number to reach us.  Thank you for this card."

“We believe in giving back to the community in any small or big ways and we are delighted to be able to participate in the Developmental Disability Registry Identity Card Benefits Scheme.  This scheme will definitely help the beneficiaries to be able to enjoy the food offered by BURGER KING(R) (Bon-Food Pte Ltd), especially in the light of the current economic condition.”

Mr Edwin Eswaran, Assistant General Manager, Bon-Food Pte Ltd

"Communication for Life has a team of therapists who are dedicated to provide speech, language, feeding, oral-motor and social-skills intervention to all children with communication needs.  By participating in this scheme with NCSS, we hope that our services will become even more affordable to the community at large. We are determined to provide quality therapy with functional and evidence-based approaches on a regular and continual basis."
