Nominees must have demonstrated significant and sustained involvement in the social service sector for at least a minimum of three years immediately preceding the nomination.
Past PSSA winners would not be eligible for further awards for the next 5 years after receiving their award. For example, a winner from 2005 or earlier will only be eligible from 2011.
The requirements for the four categories are:
Individual
Any individual residing in Singapore.
Informal Group
Any non-registered or ad-hoc group that is not part of a larger organisation(e.g. student groups and volunteer groups with less than 50 members).
Formal Group / Nonprofit or Public Sector Organisation
Any registered group under written law (e.g. associations, clubs, societies, ministries, statutory boards and other government-related organisations). The group's contributions must be voluntary, i.e. non-profit organisations with paid staff are excluded.
Corporation
Any Singapore-based private sector organisation.
